Mobile desludging
Minimally invasive, gentle, powerful
Sediments, organic residues and mineral deposits accumulate over time at the bottom of bodies of water, lakes, ponds, settling basins and much more. They not only impair the storage volume – but also permanently change the ecological conditions in the water body.
The thicker the layer of sludge, the greater the danger:
decomposition processes at the bottom of the pond deprive the water of oxygen, favour the formation of putrefactive gases and promote the spread of blue-green algae (cyanobacteria). The water tilts, the pond starts to smell rotten and the risk of massive fish mortality increases, especially in hot summer months.
At some point, the sludge has to be removed – but how can it be done without paralysing the entire system? Without costly earthworks, without draining the water and without destroying the sensitive habitats in and around the water?
Mobile desludging with the help of amphibious vehicles
Our specialised vehicles work where conventional technology reaches its limits – directly in the water. They are buoyant, lightweight and extremely manoeuvrable, allowing them to move easily even in narrow or sensitive pools.
With a flexible, freely positionable suction arm, the sludge is picked up directly from the pond floor – targeted, efficient and minimally invasive. The arm can be adapted to the conditions on site, for example with different water depths, pond liners or embankments.
A robust unit consisting of an integrated screw conveyor, powerful pump and shredder is installed on the suction arm. This ensures that the collected sludge is conveyed efficiently and prevents possible clogging. Sediment removal takes place during operation, without interrupting the function and, above all, without interfering with the ecological balance.
The combination of waterway desludging and subsequent sophisticated sludge dewatering makes Amodes a unique service provider on the market.
