Mobile Unit Desludging
Efficient.Flexible.On site
Drainage and desilting projects are difficult to realise economically and ecologically with current solutions. This is often made more difficult by limited space in urban areas, the protection of sensitive flora and fauna in nature reserves, heavily frequented local recreation areas and intensively used bodies of water that are difficult to access.
Our specially developed dewatering system, the MUD, sets new standards in mobile sludge dewatering and offers a customised solution.
It is characterised by minimally invasive intervention, low space requirements, low operating costs and high throughput.
MUD – Mobile Unit Desludging
The MUD, which is located on a 40″ flat rack or semi-trailer, combines two central processes:
First step
Coarse material separation:
The rotating trommel screen with a grain size of 2.5 mm not only classifies coarse and fine material, but also separates out unwanted coarse material such as stones, green waste, pieces of wood, plastics and golf balls. This is not only important for further dewatering, but also reduces disposal costs.
Second step
Sludge separation and conditioning:
The sludge is conditioned and sedimented by two circular infiltrators. The solids settle while the clear water is separated. Flocculants of drinking water quality and bio-based products are used to optimise thickening. This allows the clear water (filtrate) to be returned directly to the original body of water, which is not only good for the environment, but also good for your wallet.
Third step
Desludging:
The conditioned sludge is then fed into a belt filter press. There, continuous mechanical dewatering takes place by means of pressure filtration, which considerably increases the dry substance. The filtrate obtained (clear water) can also be returned to the original watercourse. The dewatered, puncture-resistant material can then be easily loaded into trailers/containers etc. via a conveyor belt.
| AREAS OF APPLICATION, SUITABLE FOR | ADVANTAGES |
|---|---|
| Sludge from rivers, lakes, harbours, ponds | No environmental impact on the water and its surroundings (WHG-certified) |
| Pond treatment plants & fining ponds | Filtrate (clear water) can be returned to the watercourse |
| Rainwater retention basins & fire extinguishing ponds | Small space requirement (BE area 200m²) |
| Municipal sludge | High flow rate (input up to 130 m³/h) |
| Mineral sludges from sand, gravel and crushed stone works | Transportable dry sludge (output 7t/h with up to 75% dry matter content) |
| Drilling sludge from tunnelling, special civil engineering | Minimum polymer requirement (<2.5kg WS per tonne of dry matter) |
| Industrial sludge from chemical, paper and sugar factories | Low operating costs (35 kWh) |

Our MUD in use
A short insight into our work and technology.
Service performance
Benefits of our innovative Amodes MUD technology
Our innovative sludge removal utilizes a gentle, water-optimized process with an amphibious vehicle and suction excavator (Truxor), ensuring sustainable environmental protection. Thanks to efficient sludge dewatering and precisely optimized flocculant dosing, we produce dischargeable filtrate water—without the need for expensive post-treatment. To meet a wide range of requirements, we have various special equipment at our disposal, such as pumps, conveyors, power units, crushers, and pipelines. Direct loading onto semitrailers and containers allows for optimized load capacity and significantly reduces the number of transports.
Through close and reliable cooperation with experienced partner companies in the field of transport and recycling or disposal of dewatered sludge residues, we ensure smooth operations. Our solutions require only minimal space for construction site equipment and provide an interference-free atmosphere during desludging. Low noise emission values even make night operations possible. With our technical know-how, we offer economically and ecologically more efficient sludge dewatering, opening up large savings potential for the disposal or post-treatment of filtrate water.
Dewatering system
Our system combines all the components of sludge dewatering on just one singular semi-trailer.
Process-description:
- Gross/fine material separation
- Separation of the sand portion (optional)
- Sedimentation by adding flocculants
- Use of drinking water quality flocculants and bio-based products
- Dewatering using a belt filter press
- Removal by pumping technique
Why Amodes?
Recycling economy rethought
- Waters are cleared of sediment in an ecologically sensible way
- Transport traffic on the road is minimised through volume reduction
- Sludge and water remain in the material cycle
Short description Amodes MUD Technology
- High throughput performance (up to 130m3/h)
- Immediately transportable dry sludge with up to 75 % dry matter content
- Small space requirements for the overall system (<200m²)
- Sludge separation, conditioning and dewatering completely on a single semi-trailer
- Low operating costs
- The automatic system control allows complete operation by just one person
- Quick installation in a few steps
